[Action Required] Calling for test day
This post will be talking about the Test day which I am proposing and how I believe can increase more participation around QA in India and by extension the rest of the world.
Why and How?
Well, being an Open Source contributor for last 3 years, I know how important FOSS contribution matters in a person's personal growth. The state of any Open Source project depends on how much participation we have from the people. This involves people from various areas of life to come and work for a mission driven project.
India is a very diverse country , having contributors from India is easy and since we have the right pool of talent getting them with us will create difference at a mass level. By far we have a good deal of people who participate in all the open source conferences and are ready to start their journey. QA being one of the easiest and fastest ways to get involved , building a strong community focused towards QA will increase the contribution spectrum by manifolds.
Proposal of a Test Day
As I was surfing through the QA wiki pages for Fedora 24 Alpha 1.7 . It dawned upon me that , we can empower students, developer and OSS enthusiasts by giving them a platform and proper onboarding guide which will be pretty straight forward and welcoming.
Community like Rome , can't be built in a day . It requires constant mentoring and a set of activities which will be always open for anyone to come and lay their hands on. Thinking of that, here is how I am thinking to make it work.

Test day
1. Installation Test Day
Guide : https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Fedora_24_Alpha_1.7_Installation?rd=Test_Results:Current_Installation_Test
2. Base Test Day
Guide : https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Fedora_24_Alpha_1.7_Base?rd=Test_Results:Current_Base_Test
How will this help?
As this is recursive process, which is easy and doesn't require a lot of technical knowledge , any general student even can start things from scratch. This will motivate rest of folks to get started.
Getting Started
1. Create a FAS account
2. Head up to Fedora 24 Change set
3.Take up any incomplete QA task.
I will give you a very simple example.
If you like to do the QA, head to "How to test section" and follow the steps , once done just mark the QA as pass or fail , depending on the result!
Doesn't that sound easy?
