Fedora x PyTorch Connect at DevConf.IN 2025

 This is a short trip report for Devconf IN 2025 in MIT WPU, Pune. This report talks about my presence, fedora's participation.

DevConf.IN 2025 brought together open-source enthusiasts, developers, and industry leaders to discuss the latest advancements in technology. As part of this, Fedora hosted a Fedora x PyTorch meetup, where we explored the intersection of Fedora, AI, and PyTorch.

A Deep Dive into AI and Fedora

During the session, I introduced the AI/ML Special Interest Group (SIG) in Fedora, highlighting its efforts to enhance AI and ML workflows in the Fedora ecosystem. One of the key highlights of the talk was a live demonstration of Ollama, an exciting AI tool recently packaged for Fedora 42. The demo showcased how Fedora is evolving as a platform for AI development, enabling researchers and developers to leverage open-source AI tools seamlessly.


 

PyTorch and the Future of AI in RHEL

 


 

Sudhir, Senior Manager in Global Engineering, provided an insightful overview of why PyTorch is a critical component for AI development. He also shared details on how Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is looking forward to integrating PyTorch and other AI components to enhance its AI/ML capabilities, making enterprise AI more accessible and scalable.

The session concluded with an engaging discussion on the future of AI in open-source, Fedora’s role in fostering AI/ML development, and how contributors can get involved.

[Test Day Annoucement] Anaconda Blivet GUI

Thursday 2017-04-06 will be Anaconda Blivet-GUI Test Day ! As part of this planned Change for Fedora 26, So this is an important Test Day! We'll be testing the new detailed bottom-up configuration screen has been long requested by users and inclusion of blivet-gui into Anaconda finally makes this a reality. On the other hand, it just adds a new option without changing the existing advanced storage configuration so users that prefer the top-down configuration can still use it. to see whether it's working well enough and catch any remaining issues. It's also pretty easy to join in: all you'll need is alpha 1.7 (which you can grab from the wiki page). Anaconda grew a rather important new option in F26: as well as the two existing partitioning choices (automatic, and the existing anaconda custom part interface) there's now a *third* choice.so now you can do custom partitioning with blivet-gui run within anaconda, as well as using anaconda's own interface...
